Our Mission

Seattle Solar Car Team empowers high school students through real engineering, teamwork, and innovation. As a high school student-led organization, we design and build solar-powered vehicles that give students hands-on experience in problem solving, fabrication, project management, and renewable technology.

With the overwhelming support of mentors and sponsors, we prepare the next generation of engineers and sustainability leaders for solving real world problems by providing a hands on and engaging learning environment.

What We’ve Already Achieved

  • Engineered five student-built, championship-winning solar cars

  • Offered invaluable hands-on experience to high school students, shaping the next generation of innovators

  • Constructed our third car to college competition standards

  • Helped to educate multiple generations of engineers
